1. What We Collect

When you use JobMatched, we collect information you provide directly:

  • Account info — name and email address (via sign-up form or Google/LinkedIn OAuth).
  • Resume text — the content you upload or paste for resume customization.
  • Job descriptions — the text you paste for matching.
  • Usage data — anonymized product events (e.g. “tailoring started”) and session recordings to improve the product.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To tailor your resume using AI — we send resume and job description text to our AI provider to generate suggestions.
  • To provide your account, process payments, and send transactional emails (password resets, payment confirmations).
  • To improve the product via anonymized analytics and session replays.

We never sell your data. We never use your resume to train AI models. We never share your resume with employers or third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate JobMatched:

  • AI providers — for resume tailoring (text processing only, no data retained by provider).
  • Stripe — for payment processing. We never store credit card numbers.
  • PostHog (self-hosted) — for product analytics and session replay.
  • Resend — for transactional emails.
  • Sentry — for error tracking.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Your resumes and tailored documents are stored in our database for as long as you have an account. You can delete individual resumes at any time from the My Resumes page.

You can delete your entire account from Account Settings. This permanently removes all your data — resumes, tailored documents, cover letters, and account information. This action cannot be undone.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session management). PostHog may set analytics cookies to track anonymized usage. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our servers use encrypted storage, firewall rules, and access controls. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We conduct regular security audits.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice.
